For the opportunity? Or for less than you're worth? So that a corporation can tick the IWD box?
This year, the theme for IWD is Count her in: Accelerating gender equality through economic empowerment.
You cannot have that theme for IWD and think it’s appropriate not to economically empower your speakers by not paying them or by not paying them what they're worth.

It's Time to Draw a Line in the Sand.
To ask Corporations to put their money where your mouth is.
That’s why I want to ask you to create real change by saying no to speaking for free on IWD or for less than you're market rate and to ask for what you’re worth. (Of course, there’s always exceptions such as choosing to speak for a charity).
To help you, I’ve created an email template and a script that you can download below.

I want to call out any corporation who is expecting a woman to speak for free
That’s why I’m creating a register of large organisations and publicly listed companies who are doing this. To dob in a corporation, simply fill in the form below and we’ll add them to our public register.
BUT here’s the thing. By using my scripts and templates I’m hoping there will be NO names on this list. My hope is that corporations will understand that this year (more than any other year) we need to create real gender equality through economic empowerment by PAYING speakers appropriately for IWD.
For those large organisations that offer token amounts, less than market rates or ask women to speak for free - be careful, or you just might end up on our list.
