Hey, I'm Mel.
I'm an ex-accountant and ex-financial adviser who owned a successful accounting and financial planning business for almost 20 years. I'm an authorised representative licensed to give general financial advice, and I've written five books about money and business including the global bestseller Unf*ck Your Finances and in Feb 2026, Dare to be Wealthy.
I have the theory. But I also have the lived experience: I grew up in the western suburbs of Sydney, went into five figures of debt in my early thirties, and built back from less-than-nothing to become a financially independent multi-millionaire in my forties from the strategies I put in place for myself.
Today, I'm a financial educator who believes understanding how to build wealth shouldn't be abdicated or reserved for the select few who can afford it, it's something everyone can achieve.
Mel has a rare ability to demystify finance in a way that feels practical, engaging and genuinely empowering. Her real-world insights help build confidence and financial literacy across our workforce, particularly for women, and she brings an energy that makes finance not just accessible but fun. Mel's workshops have become a valued and impactful part of our gender-equity strategy.
