I'm a Western Sydney chick who grew up believing that money was something other people had. Despite my dad being an accountant, it wasn't something we talked about.
As an adult I made big money mistakes. Credit cards. Store cards. And then, in my early thirties, I gave every cent of my divorce proceeds, and everything in my business and personal accounts, to charity. As a result of my ex-husband saying I'd never make it on my own. An emotional mistake that I instantly regretted. It meant moving into a share house with four mates and going into five figures of debt.
To say I was ashamed was an understatement. I was an accountant. Someone who was supposed to make smart money decisions. But that experience means I know what it feels like to not be at the age and stage you thought you should be.
My story didn't end there. I built back from less than nothing. Not because I had some brilliant plan, but because I finally sat with the money behaviour I'd been running from and did the actual work. Building income. Understanding why I did what I did. Learning how to invest.
Today I'm financially independent and have so much choice. That's what I believe wealth is. And it's why I teach and create the products the way I do. I want you to realise money isn't overwhelming or difficult or something you file away and feel bad about later.
Instead, it's simply a tool to help you support the life you want.
