We're not a marketing company, we're a financial transformation business

Hey and welcome to Mel’s Money musings. So today it's a different musing, and that's because I'm meeting with my business coach right now. As you're reading this. And I know that today she's going to try and talk me out of the decision that I'm going to announce in this musing. I kind of didn't want her to do that.

So I'm sending you this musing so that she can’t. And it's a big one.

It's a huge announcement, and it's absolutely going to impact my business and how we work going forward. And that is I've decided from now on, I've been doing this for four years. I've really got a feel for how it works and how online courses work.

And so I've made the decision to cap every single round of the My Financially Adulting Plan, this year at 400, I'll reassess in future years as to what that number might be, but every single round going forward will be capped.

The reason being is that I want to make sure it’s the financial stories of transformation that really get Lawsie and I excited, we want to be a company that is all about financial transformation, not a marketing company that just happens to do financial education.

I want more financial stories like Clare, who paid back 50 grand of credit card debt, like Liz and Catherine, who are in their fifties and bought a house when they never thought that was possible for them.

Like Marnie, who for the very first time went to the UK with her daughter without popping it on a credit card.

Like the many, many stories of investment properties bought like Hannah, who in her twenties bought her first property.

I have so many freaking stories. I've got accountants like Emma,

who saved 12,000 per year on her mortgage, through strategies she's done. Who let Michelle, who's an ex-CEO of a billion-dollar company that again saved 15 K plus I think it was 18 K a year through changes she's made.

I want more of those stories and because of that, I've decided to cap each round at 400.

Now, to put that in perspective, it seems like a high number, but that would have meant last year that 220 people missed out. And I don't want you to miss out. But for me, it's more important that every single person comes in is that we're able to work with you appropriately, that we're able to pull ourselves out and still leave enough left

for other things that we want to do. Because I know my energy is isn't is not infinite. And I want to make sure we have so many more of those stories.

And I want to protect our community because the My Financial Adulting Plan community, I’ve got to be honest, it’s special and I don't know how much that's going to get diluted if we're pouring thousands and thousands in at a time, which is kind of what we were getting to. 

You know, we had one round where it’s 550 people and the growth was just becoming exponential.

And that makes it's exciting.

But it also makes me nervous because, as I say, I don't want to be a marketing company that just happens to do financial education.

I want to be a transformative company.

So with apologies to my business coach, from this moment on, every round this year, is limited to 400. What this means for you is that you are absolutely going to want to be on the waitlist because when we hit 400, we're going to put a sold out sign and that’s it.

If we hit it in 24 hours?

I promise you were shutting doors at 24 hours.

If we hit it at day five, we're shutting at day five.

For me, the community and the stories are more important than the dollars that I make.

So that is why that decision. We're opening pre-sale a few days early to our waitlist. And again, if it sells out to waitlist, which there's two and a half thousand people on waitlist at the moment, then that’s it, we’ll open it to the general public and we'll still run the webinars, but you won't be able to join. You'll be able to buy like a watered down something, but you won't be able to jump in on that course until the next round.
